Spring in Rümmingen

Yes we have the beautiful flowers popping up.......

We have spring yard projects started......

There are seed booths at the farmer's market.....

But it is not spring in Rümmingen until the signs and barriers for the frog crossings go up!

... do not laugh, Richmond, VA has it's own salamander crossing!

Who would have known.

I'm jealous. We're not seeing signs of spring yet. Well maybe slightly warmer weather, but no flowers and absolutely no frog crossings.

Spring!? A couple of blogs ago you had 2 feet of snow. What a weather change. Our weather change is one day it is cloudy and another is sunny. One good thing here is that there is not pollen burst because things bloom year around.

About the frog sign. Are they a dangerous thing on the road? I remember on the farm, after a good rain, there were many on the road and we didn't have a problem driving through.

Ah,yes, the frogs. They are not endangered or endangering. Just alot of frogs that need to cross the road to do one of the things frogs do....Every morning, the "frog folks" come and collect the frogs in buckets and carry them across the road. It is not that they are special frogs, it is that they are so many and the "popping" sound when frogs meet auto was getting a little to much to bear..other words it was GROSS! The storks like the frog fences, easy pickings.

I didn't know you could fence out frogs! This would have been good to know our first spring in Richmond when we had a Biblical-scale plague of frogs in our backyard. Aaron used to collect them in buckets! I can attest to the nasty popping sound. Aren't those Germans ingenious!
